Delete your account
Last updated 26 August 2026
You can delete your Kura-Tu account whenever you want. You do not need to ask us, justify it, or speak to anyone.
Delete it from the app
- Open Kura-Tu.
- Tap the menu icon in the top-left of the home screen.
- Tap Account & Privacy.
- Under Your data, tap Delete my account.
- Confirm.
Deletion begins immediately and you are signed out.
If you no longer have the app
Email support@kura-tu.com from the address on your account, or tell us the mobile number you signed in with, and ask us to delete the account. We will verify the request is really from you before acting on it, and complete it within 30 days.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credential.
- Your name, address, state, county and district information.
- Your voter registration verification status and any verification image still held.
- Your saved polling place.
- Your recorded vote, if you recorded one.
- Your notification token and notification history.
- The link between you and every observation you contributed.
What is not deleted
Community Intelligence that has already been aggregated stays in the aggregate. Once contributions from many people are combined into counts and proportions, that result no longer contains you and cannot be reversed back to you — so there is nothing personal left in it to remove.
We may also keep a minimal record where the law requires it, for example to show a deletion request was made and honoured.
How long it takes
| Step | Timing |
|---|---|
| Account closed and sign-in disabled | Immediately |
| Personal information removed from live systems | Within 30 days |
| Removal from encrypted backups as they cycle | Within 90 days |
Deletion is permanent. There is no undo and no recovery. If you rejoin later you start over as a new contributor, and you will need to verify your voter registration again.
